分析描写人物心理活动语言的翻译实践报告

【摘要】：人物传记是通过对典型人物的故事进行系统描述、介绍的一种文学艺术形式,它包括对人物的丰富的想象力、独到的见解、与众不同的生活经历、生动的人物形象的描写。本论文节选美国著名作家肯特·巴伯的人物传记《这不是游戏:艾伦·艾佛森大起大落的人生》中的最有代表性的第一章作为翻译实践。通过对艾佛森成长经历、生平事迹的描述,体现出艾佛森人生的起起落落,给人以教育意义。由于该书作者善于运用反映人物心理活动的语言,来刻画人物的性格,而对人物心理活动翻译一直是翻译的难点,因此要达到理想的翻译,译者必须尽量做到原语和译入语在词汇、修辞和句式方面的对等,才能表达出与原语读者相同的感受,既体现传记文学的文学性同时又不失去其真实性。而奈达翻译理论所关注的重点正是读者对译文的反应,故此文本选用功能对等理论下的一些翻译方法,分析描写人物心理的语言。报告共分为三部分。第一部分是引言,对任务、传记文学的发展过程、国内外研究的现状的简单介绍,以及探究研究此类文本的现实意义。第二部分是报告的主体,共分成三章。第一章对翻译文本进行简要介绍,包括对本书的作者、内容、背景以及体现人物心理描写的语言特征的介绍,对所应用的理论——功能对等理论的简要分析。第二章对翻译过程的描述,包括译前准备,分析这本书中心理描写用到的手法、翻译过程、后期的校对和修改。第三章为案例分析,在功能对等理论指导下采用意译法、转换法、语序调整法、四字词语的运用的翻译技巧解决心理描写翻译问题。第三部分总结,是对整个翻译过程进行总结,总结在此次翻译中的不足之处、译者从中吸取的经验教训、以及为后续研究者提供的指导意义。
[Abstract]:Biographies are a form of literature and art which is introduced through the systematic description of the stories of typical characters. It includes the rich imagination of the characters, unique opinions, distinctive life experiences and vivid description of the characters. This thesis extracts the most representative first chapter of American famous writer Kent Barber's biography "this is not a Game: Allen Iverson's ups and downs" as translation practice. Through the description of Iverson's growth experience and life story, it reflects the ups and downs of Iverson's life and gives people educational significance. Since the author of the book is good at using language that reflects the psychological activities of the characters to portray the characters' character, translation of the psychological activities of the characters is always a difficult point, so it is necessary to achieve the ideal translation. In order to express the same feelings as the readers of the source language, the translator must try his best to achieve the equivalence between the source language and the target language in terms of vocabulary, rhetoric and sentence structure, which not only embodies the literariness of biographical literature but also does not lose its authenticity. However, the focus of Nida's translation theory is the readers' response to the target text. Therefore, some translation methods based on functional equivalence theory are used to analyze the language describing the psychology of the characters. The report is divided into three parts. The first part is the introduction, a brief introduction to the task, the development process of biographical literature, the current situation of domestic and foreign research, and the practical significance of exploring this kind of text. The second part is the main body of the report, which is divided into three chapters. The first chapter gives a brief introduction to the translated text, including the author, content, background and linguistic features of the psychological description of the characters, as well as a brief analysis of the applied theory of functional equivalence. The second chapter describes the translation process, including pre-translation preparation, analysis of the psychological description used in this book, translation process, late proofreading and revision. Chapter three is a case study. Under the guidance of functional equivalence theory, the translation techniques of free translation, transformation, word order adjustment and four word words are used to solve the problem of psychological description translation. The third part is a summary of the whole process of translation, including the shortcomings in this translation, the experiences and lessons learned by the translator, and the guiding significance for the subsequent researchers.
