《肯尼亚太阳能发电站开发合同》翻译实践报告

【摘要】:随着中国“一带一路”战略的实施,中外国际工程项目日益增多,专业化的工程合同及其翻译需求成倍增长,这不仅给译员提供了更多机遇,而且也带来了更大的挑战。首先,工程合同具有极强的专业性,对于不具备相关专业知识的译员来说翻译难度很大。其次,工程合同翻译项目通常工作量大,而交付时间又非常紧迫。由此可见,要做好工程合同类文本翻译并非易事。高质量的工程合同翻译有利于合同各方的顺利交流以及工程的顺利进行,因此探讨工程合同的翻译具有极强的现实意义。本文通过对作者承担的《肯尼亚太阳能发电站开发合同》的翻译实践进行分析,探讨了工程合同翻译中的难点及应对策略。首先,作者通过对专业术语,古体词等语言翻译难点进行归纳,提出了切实可行的解决方法,并将分译、变序等翻译技巧应用于长句的翻译当中,使译文更具可读性和可接受性。其次,由于本合同是以国际通用工程合同范本《生产设备和设计——施工合同条件》(通常称为“菲迪克黄皮书”)为蓝本编写的,因此作者通过自建翻译记忆库并将其应用于计算机辅助翻译软件当中,提高了翻译效率,从而在客户要求时间内圆满完成了翻译项目,受到了客户好评。通过本次翻译项目,作者得出结论:针对工程合同翻译中的难点,译者要善于采取相应的策略和方法。工程合同翻译中,译者熟练运用计算机辅助翻译软件和选用适合的翻译记忆是提高翻译效率的有效途径。译者作为翻译行为的核心,不仅要做好译前准备工作,还要具备必要的专业知识,才能使翻译工作更加得心应手。本文通过对此次翻译实践进行认真的总结和反思,旨在为工程合同翻译中的计算机辅助翻译软件的应用提供可行方案,并为工程合同译者提供有益的参考和启发。
[Abstract]:With the implementation of Chinese "Belt and Road" strategy, the number of international engineering projects at home and abroad is increasing day by day, and the demand for specialized engineering contracts and their translation has increased exponentially, which not only provides more opportunities for interpreters, but also brings more challenges. First of all, engineering contracts are highly professional, and translation is very difficult for interpreters who do not have relevant professional knowledge. Second, engineering contract translation projects are usually heavy workload, and delivery time is very tight. It can be seen that it is not easy to do a good job in the translation of engineering contract texts. High-quality translation of engineering contracts is conducive to the smooth communication between the parties to the contract and the smooth progress of the project, so it is of great practical significance to explore the translation of engineering contracts. Based on the analysis of the translation practice of Kenya Solar Power Station Development contract undertaken by the author, this paper discusses the difficulties and countermeasures in the translation of the project contract. First of all, the author summarizes the difficulties in translation of technical terms, archaic words and other languages, and puts forward practical solutions, and applies translation techniques, such as split translation and variable order, to the translation of long sentences. Make the translation more readable and acceptable. Secondly, since this contract is based on the Model International contract for the Construction of production equipment and Design-conditions of the contract for Construction (commonly referred to as the "Feddick Yellow Book"), Therefore, by building the translation memory bank and applying it to the computer-aided translation software, the author improves the translation efficiency and completes the translation project successfully within the time required by the customer, which is well received by the clients. Through this translation project, the author draws a conclusion that the translator should be good at adopting the corresponding strategies and methods in view of the difficulties in the translation of engineering contracts. In engineering contract translation, it is an effective way to improve translation efficiency by using computer aided translation software and selecting suitable translation memory. As the core of translation, translators should not only prepare themselves before translation, but also have the necessary professional knowledge in order to make translation more convenient. Through a careful summary and reflection of this translation practice, this paper aims to provide a feasible scheme for the application of computer-aided translation software in the translation of engineering contracts, and to provide useful reference and inspiration for the translators of engineering contracts.
