高职院校英语应用能力B级考试对学生英语学习反拨作用的调查研究

【摘要】:英语应用能力B级考试是国家教育部对高等职业技术院校(高职院校)学生的英语基本知识和语言技能的标准化水平考试。它对高职院校英语教学工作具有一定的影响。自2014年起,英语应用能力B级考试的题型进行了改革,加强了听力部分的比重和阅读材料的实用性。论文针对改革后内蒙古地区高职院校英语应用能力B级考试对学生英语学习的反拨作用进行了调查研究。作者首先分析了高职院校英语教学中存在的问题,论述了选题目的和意义;其次界定了测试、反拨作用、英语应用能力考试等基本概念,并对国内外研究文献进行了分析论述,得知国外的专家和学者们已经从理论到实践对世界各国关于语言测试的反拨作用进行了大量的研究。国内的研究则主要集中在高考及大学英语四、六级考试,而对高职院校英语应用能力考试反拨作用的研究相对滞后,其理论与实践研究亟待完善。本文以包头钢铁职业技术学院2015级造价专业、酒店专业、计算机专业和会计专业的156名学生为研究对象,从积极的反拨和消极的反拨两个方面对改革后B级考试对高职院校学生英语学习反拨作用进行了调查。作者根据WallAlderson的15条反拨作用假设和Hughes(1993)、Bailey(1996)的反拨作用基本模式设计问卷,通过问卷调查及对个别学生访谈,深入了解英语应用能力B级考试对该校学生英语学习的影响。利用SPSS22.0、EXCEL2007等软件对调查数据进行整理、对比与详细分析。最后,研究结果表明英语应用能力B级考试对高职院校学生英语学习有积极的反拨作用。主要表现在对学生设立学习目的、了解学习内容、培养学习兴趣以及探索有效方法等方面存在的积极影响。为了准备考试,学生积极地制定英语学习计划,每天的英语学习时间明显增加,学生的学习主动性也明显提高,英语综合水平得到了一定程度的提高。但同时也存在消极反拔作用,比如会引起学生的紧张、焦虑感;只顾机械做题,不重视沟通、交流;只重英语知识练习,不重视英语应用能力培养。但是,研究表明,总体来说积极的反拨作用要大于消极的反拨作用。为了提高英语应用能力B级考试对英语学习的积极作用,作者从教育管理部门、高职院校英语教师和学生等三个方面提出了切实可行的教学建议,同时作者也指出了本研究的不足之处。
[Abstract]:Level B English proficiency Test (CET) is a standardized examination of the basic knowledge and language skills of students in higher vocational and technical colleges (higher vocational colleges) by the Ministry of Education. It has certain influence on English teaching in higher vocational colleges. Since 2014, the question types of CET-B have been reformed to enhance the proportion of listening parts and the practicability of reading materials. This paper investigates the backwash effect of English proficiency Test (CET) in higher vocational colleges in Inner Mongolia on students' English learning after the reform. The author first analyzes the existing problems in English teaching in higher vocational colleges and discusses the purpose and significance of the topic. Secondly, it defines the basic concepts such as test, backwash function, English application ability test and so on, and analyzes and discusses the research literature at home and abroad. It is known that foreign experts and scholars have done a lot of research on the backwash effect of language testing in the world from theory to practice. The research in China is mainly focused on college entrance examination and CET-4 and CET-6, but the research on the backwash effect of CET in higher vocational colleges is relatively lagging behind, and its theoretical and practical research needs to be improved. In this paper, 156 students majoring in cost, hotel, computer and accounting in Baotou Iron and Steel Vocational and Technical College are studied. This paper investigates the effect of level B examination on English learning of vocational college students from two aspects: positive backwash and negative backwash. According to WallAlderson's 15 hypothesis of backwash effect and Hughes's (1993), Bailey (1996) basic pattern of backwash effect, the author designed a questionnaire, and interviewed individual students by questionnaire. Learn more about the influence of English proficiency Test (CET B) on students' English learning. Using SPSS22.0,EXCEL2007 and other software to collate the survey data, contrast and detailed analysis. Finally, the results show that CET level B has a positive backwash effect on English learning of vocational college students. It mainly shows the positive influence on students' setting up learning aim, understanding learning content, cultivating learning interest and exploring effective methods. In order to prepare for the exam, the students actively formulate English learning plans, the daily English learning time is obviously increased, the students' learning initiative is also obviously improved, and the comprehensive level of English has been improved to a certain extent. But at the same time, there are negative counter-pulling effects, such as causing students to feel nervous and anxious; only paying attention to mechanical problems, not paying attention to communication and communication; only paying attention to English knowledge practice, not paying attention to the cultivation of English application ability. However, the study shows that the positive backwash is larger than the negative backwash in general. In order to improve the positive effect of CET-B on English learning, the author puts forward some practical teaching suggestions from three aspects: education management department, English teachers and students in higher vocational colleges. At the same time, the author also points out the shortcomings of this study.
