生态翻译学视域下英语电影片名的翻译

【摘要】:近年来,在中国改革开放以及全球一体化的大背景下,英语电影作为一种重要的跨文化交流媒介,正扮演着越来越重要的角色。而电影片名,作为电影的标签,在吸引观众眼球,激发观影欲望方面起着举足轻重的作用。因此,如何将英文电影的片名恰当得体地翻译成中文并起到良好效果是众多翻译家和学者十分关注的一个问题,也是翻译领域的一个重要组成部分。然而,在有关英文电影名翻译的研究中,多数学者是从微观的角度出发,比如站在目的论,功能主义的角度研究翻译的策略和方法。很少有人从宏观的角度出发,系统地提出原理和方法来指导电影片名的翻译。而且,由于缺少系统可行的方法做指导,目前市场上的英语电影片名误译,滥译现象层出不穷,尤其是大陆,香港和台湾三地对同一部英文电影片名的翻译更是千奇百怪,各有不同。基于此,本文试图从生态翻译学的角度出发,以其“三维翻译原则”作为指导,充分考虑翻译的生态环境,对英语电影片名的翻译,尤其是两岸三地不同的翻译现象做常识性研究。起源于“翻译适应选择论”,生态翻译学的概念由国内学者胡庚申首次提出,在近20年的发展中不断完善,已经成为一种比较成熟的翻译理论。该理论的新颖和独特之处在于,它是从宏观角度出发,大处着眼并提出了系统可行的指导原则和方法,为翻译研究提供了新的角度和思路。生态学,作为一种新兴的科学形式,受到了各国学者的广泛关注,胡庚申教授将生态学和翻译学有机结合,提出了“生态翻译学”并明确了生态翻译学的生态学视角。从生物进化论的基本原则“自然选择”,“优胜劣汰”为基础,生态翻译学对翻译的实质进行了新的定义,即:“译者适应翻译生态环境的选择活动”。从定义中可以得知,生态翻译学认为“译者”是翻译的中心,翻译的过程就是译者适应和译者选择的交替循环过程。另外,生态翻译学还对翻译的原则及方法进行了重新的描述和解释。翻译原则是多维度的选择性适应与适应性选择。翻译方法是“三维”(语言维、交际维、文化维)转换。
[Abstract]:In recent years, under the background of China's reform and opening up and globalization, English movies, as an important cross-cultural communication medium, are playing a more and more important role. Film title, as a film label, plays an important role in attracting the audience's attention and arousing the movie viewing desire. Therefore, how to properly and appropriately translate the titles of English films into Chinese and achieve good results is a problem that many translators and scholars pay close attention to, and it is also an important part of translation field. However, in the study of the translation of English film titles, most scholars study the translation strategies and methods from a micro perspective, such as Skopos and functionalism. Few people systematically propose principles and methods to guide the translation of film titles from a macro perspective. Moreover, due to the lack of systematic and feasible methods to guide the translation of English film titles in the market at present, there are endless phenomena of excessive translation. In particular, the translation of the same English film title in the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan is all the more odd. Each is different. Based on this, this paper attempts to study the translation of English film titles from the perspective of ecological translation, under the guidance of its "three dimensional translation principles" and taking full account of the ecological environment of translation. In particular, the translation phenomenon between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and the three places is studied in common sense. Originated from "the Theory of Translation adaptation Choice", the concept of ecological translation was first put forward by Hu Gengshen, a domestic scholar, and has become a relatively mature translation theory in the past 20 years. The novelty and uniqueness of this theory lies in that it is from a macro point of view and puts forward systematic and feasible guiding principles and methods, which provide a new perspective and train of thought for translation studies. Ecology, as a new form of science, has received extensive attention from scholars all over the world. Professor Hu Gengshen organically combined ecology with translation studies and put forward the ecological perspective of ecological translation. Based on the basic principles of biological evolution "natural selection" and "survival of the fittest", a new definition of the essence of translation is put forward in ecological translation theory, that is, "the translator's choice to adapt to the ecological environment of translation". It can be seen from the definition that "translator" is the center of translation, and that the process of translation is an alternate cycle of adaptation and choice of the translator. In addition, the principles and methods of translation are redescribed and explained. The principle of translation is multi-dimensional selective adaptation and adaptive choice. The translation method is "three-dimensional" (linguistic dimension, communicative dimension, cultural dimension) conversion.
