《重回写作声音》翻译报告

【摘要】:在全球化的时代背景下,各国逐渐加强了学术领域的交流,因此,学术语篇的翻译也受到越来越多的关注。学术语篇的翻译能够为读者介绍国外学术领域的研究成果,对学术领域的发展至关重要。人们普遍认为学术语篇的特征是客观而又严谨的,但是系统功能语言学认为,任何表达都包含着人际情感意义和人的态度。在开展学术语篇翻译时,有些译者只看到了学术语篇客观性的特点却忽略了文章中包含的情感意义。所以,作者认为译者在完成学术语篇的翻译之后,有必要采取方法来检验译文是否传达了原文的情感意义。评价理论由马丁与怀特在20世纪提出,该理论是对韩礼德系统功能语法中人际意义的扩展。该理论从"态度"、"介入"与"级差"三个方面对评价资源进行了分析,进而评析文章的评价功能与人际功能。本篇报告将以作者完成的一次学术语篇《重回写作声音》的翻译实践为基础,以评价理论为指导,通过对比分析原文译文中评价资源的数量,各类评价资源的分布规律以及具体对应情况,来判断原文译文评价意义的表达是否接近一致。本研究是对评价理论在翻译质量评估方面的应用探索,希望能为译者们提供一种新的译文质量检验的方法。本篇报告共分为五部分。在绪论部分,作者对本次翻译任务以及原文进行了介绍,并指出了本篇报告的重要意义;第二章,作者从译前准备,译中以及译后修改反思三个方面详细介绍了本次翻译任务的翻译过程;第三章是对整篇报告的理论基础即评价理论的系统描述,包括其提出背景及具体内容等;第四章是数据分析及案例研究,在本章中,作者将原文及译文中的评价资源进行标注和数量统计,并在对两组数据进行对比分析后,通过具体例子来展示译文原文评价资源的异同之处。最后一章为结语,在本章中,作者总结了本次报告的发现及其不足之处。
[Abstract]:Under the background of globalization, more and more attention has been paid to the translation of academic texts. The translation of academic texts can introduce the research results of foreign academic fields to readers, which is of great importance to the development of academic fields. It is generally believed that the characteristics of academic discourse are objective and rigorous, but systemic functional linguistics holds that any expression contains interpersonal emotional meaning and human attitude. In the development of academic discourse translation, some translators only see the objectivity of academic discourse, but ignore the emotional meaning contained in the text. Therefore, it is necessary for the translator, after completing the translation of the academic text, to test whether the translation conveys the emotional meaning of the original text. The theory of evaluation, put forward by Martin and White in the 20th century, is an extension of interpersonal meaning in Halliday's systemic functional grammar. The theory analyzes the evaluation resources from three aspects of "attitude", "intervention" and "grade difference", and then comments on the evaluation function and interpersonal function of the article. This report will be based on the translation practice of an academic text, the Sound back to Writing, completed by the author, and guided by the evaluation theory, through a comparative analysis of the quantity of evaluation resources in the original translation. The distribution of all kinds of evaluation resources and the specific corresponding conditions are used to judge whether the expression of the evaluation meaning of the original text is close to the same. The present study explores the application of evaluation theory in translation quality assessment, hoping to provide translators with a new method of translation quality inspection. This report is divided into five parts. In the introduction part, the author introduces the translation task and the original text, and points out the significance of this report. In the second chapter, the author introduces the translation process of this translation task from three aspects: pre-translation preparation, translation Chinese and post-translation revision. The third chapter is the theoretical basis of the whole report, that is, the systematic description of the evaluation theory, including its background and specific content. The fourth chapter is the data analysis and case study. In this chapter, the author annotates and statistics the evaluation resources in the original text and the translation, and makes a comparative analysis of the two groups of data. This paper demonstrates the similarities and differences of the evaluation resources of the source text through concrete examples. The last chapter is the conclusion. In this chapter, the author summarizes the findings and shortcomings of this report.
