生态翻译学视角下《檀香刑》英译本的研究
[Abstract]:Sandalwood punishment is one of the best works of Mo Yan, the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature. Since its publication in 2008, it has aroused heated discussion in the literary world. The English version of the novel was translated and published in 2013 by American sinologist George Gehor. It has also aroused strong reaction in foreign countries and has become a topic of study in the field of translation. At present, the academic research on the Chinese version of the novel is mainly focused on Mo Yan and its narrative characteristics and aesthetic effects, but there are few studies on the English version of the novel. The emergence of ecological translation provides theoretical support for the further study of the English translation of the novel. The theory of ecological translation was put forward by Hu Gengshen in 2001. It is the result of interdisciplinary research. It combines ecology and translation to reveal the essence of translation. Translation is regarded as a process in which the translator adapts to and chooses the translation environment. Taking sandalwood punishment as the research text, this paper analyzes the English translation of sandalwood by using the new theory of ecological translation. Based on the introduction of the original work, the original author, the translated text, the translator and the translation ecological environment, this paper uses the theory of "three dimensional transformation" to analyze how to adapt and choose in the process of translation. In the linguistic dimension, the author reproduces the phonological beauty of the cat, vividly embodies the essence of all kinds of rhetoric in the original text, and embodies the heroism of Gaomi dialect. In the cultural dimension, the author mainly adopts the reserved way to spread the cultural image, which truly embodies the original content. In the communicative dimension, in order to achieve the purpose of communicative intention, through the selection of words and sentences, the author reflects the different personality of the main characters. The cultural difference between China and the West is obvious. In order to promote Chinese culture, the author translated the book, reproduced the original content, retained the original language style, and reached the highest degree of conformity. Based on the analysis of the English translation of Sandalwood punishment, this paper demonstrates the process of adaptation and selection of the translator, which proves the feasibility of ecological translation with the translator as the center and the adaptation and selection as the ecological paradigm. At the same time, it is hoped that the translation circles will pay more attention to the translation of GE Haowen and its translation style so as to draw inspiration from it and further bring Chinese literature to the world.
