零翻译非翻译——兼与译界同仁商榷

【摘要】：2001年以来中国译学界新造的"零翻译"概念内涵外延模糊不清,不能科学理性地把握翻译现象,应当谨慎使用。一文本或语符之为翻译,务必满足两个条件:一是要有原文,二是务必改变能指,使用译语符号。没有原文,即使冠以翻译之名也只能是"伪译";没有改变能指,不使用译语符号,即使冠以翻译之名也不是翻译,只能是"直接挪用"。"直接挪用"一般局限于特定的缩略语、字母词、术语词等,因其简约经济、专业化国际化等特点而为异域交际者直接使用,实质属于"语码混用"的双语现象,根本不是翻译。而居于直接挪用与伪译之间、且唯有居于这两者之间的双语转换现象,才能堪称翻译。
[Abstract]:Since 2001, the new concept of "zero translation" in Chinese translation circles is vague in connotation and can not grasp the phenomenon of translation scientifically and rationally, so it should be used with caution. Two conditions must be satisfied for the translation of a text or sign: one is to have the original text, the other is to change the signifier and use the target language symbol. Without the original text, even if the name of translation can only be "false translation", no change signifier, no use of the target language symbol, even if the translation name is not translated, it can only be "direct misappropriation". " "direct misappropriation" is generally limited to specific abbreviations, letters, terms, etc. It is used directly by foreign communicators because of its features of simple economy, specialization and internationalization. It is essentially a bilingual phenomenon of "code-mixing", which is not translation at all. Only the phenomenon of bilingual conversion between direct misappropriation and false translation can be called translation.
