纽马克文本类型理论指导下的科普文章汉译报告

【摘要】：由于科学技术的飞速发展,科普文章正起着越来越重要的作用。在这一快速发展的进程中,人们逐渐得到了经济和物质方面的满足,进而更加关注自己的内心世界。心理健康便逐渐成为现代人普遍追求的状态。本次翻译报告所选内容来自万古杂志(Aeon Magazine)的心理学板块。万古杂志是一家关注思想文化的新型网络出版刊物,主要提供有价值有深度的文章,提供多元视角。本次所选四篇论文内容涉及心理学实验方法、专业术语、心理案例叙述等。纽马克文本类型理论将文本分为表达型文本、信息型文本和呼唤型文本。同时,纽马克还相应提出了语义翻译和交际翻译两种翻译方法。本报告拟对纽马克文本类型理论指导下的心理学类科普论文英译汉的实践进行思考和总结。翻译源文本为科普论文,具有科普文章的一般特点——科学性和通俗性。译者在对纽马克的文本类型理论进行仔细研读阐释后,从原文的科技性和通俗性特征两个方面进行了全面分析,确定了以交际翻译为主的翻译策略。译文力求准确地传达源文本的信息,并且从根本上贴合目的语的表达习惯,使译文更易为目的语读者接受。在具体的语言转换过程中,笔者在充分比较中英两种语言在用词、组句方面的差异的基础上,通过采用直译、意译、增译、转换、拆分等一系列的翻译技巧,实现了准确传达源文本信息,以易于目的语读者的理解为宗旨的译文标准。本次报告共分为五个部分。第一部分是翻译实践介绍,介绍翻译材料的背景和主要内容,翻译的目的和意义。第二部分主要是翻译准备工作,包括科普文章特点分析和科普文本翻译的相关文献综述。第三部分介绍翻译策略的确立,介绍文本类型理论,语义翻译和交际翻译,并对后期翻译策略的选择进行了阐释。第四部分,笔者从词汇、句子、段落不同层面提取精华案例进行分析,阐释如何运用多种翻译技巧和策略实现原文和译文的最优转换。第五部分为结语,总结翻译过程的心得体会,同时指出自己的不足之处,以便今后相关领域的译者学习借鉴。
[Abstract]:Due to the rapid development of science and technology, popular science articles are playing a more and more important role. In this rapid development process, people gradually get economic and material satisfaction, and then pay more attention to their inner world. Mental health has gradually become the state of universal pursuit of modern people. The selection of this translation report comes from the psychology section of (Aeon Magazine) magazine. Everlasting magazine is a new type of online publication which focuses on ideology and culture. It mainly provides valuable and in-depth articles and multiple perspectives. The four selected papers cover psychological experimental methods, technical terms, psychological case narration and so on. Newmark text type theory divides text into expressive text, informational text and calling text. At the same time, Newmark puts forward two translation methods: semantic translation and communicative translation. Under the guidance of Newmark's text typology theory, this report is intended to reflect and summarize the English translation of popular science papers in psychology. The source text of translation is a popular science paper, which has the general characteristics of science popularization. After a careful study of Newmark's text typology, the translator makes a comprehensive analysis of the features of the source text in terms of both science and technology, and determines the translation strategies based on communicative translation. The translation tries to convey the information of the source text accurately and fits the expression habit of the target language so as to make the translation more acceptable to the target language readers. In the process of specific language conversion, the author, on the basis of fully comparing the differences between Chinese and English in terms of words and sentences, adopts a series of translation techniques, such as literal translation, free translation, additional translation, conversion, split and so on. The target translation standard is to convey the source text information accurately and to make it easy to be understood by the target language readers. The report is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction of translation practice, the background and main content of translation materials, the purpose and significance of translation. The second part is mainly about the translation preparation, including the analysis of the characteristics of popular science articles and the literature review of the translation of popular science texts. The third part introduces the establishment of translation strategies, text type theory, semantic translation and communicative translation, and explains the choice of late translation strategies. In the fourth part, the author analyzes the case of extracting the essence from different levels of vocabulary, sentence and paragraph, and explains how to use various translation techniques and strategies to achieve the optimal conversion between the original and the translation. The fifth part is the conclusion, summarizes the experience of the translation process, and points out their shortcomings, so that translators in the relevant fields can learn from it in the future.
