《今日家具》杂志翻译报告

【摘要】：在当今社会,随着信息技术的飞速发展,大众传媒成为人们认识、了解外界的主要工具。而杂志作为大众传媒的重要途径之一,为广大读者提供着形形色色的信息,包括文字信息,图片信息等。因此,杂志翻译在文化传播领域起着举足轻重的作用。本篇报告是根据笔者在北京一家翻译公司做兼职时的翻译实践写成。稿件为美国畅销的家具类杂志《今日家具》的英汉翻译,内容主要是一些品牌家具的风格介绍,主编的寄语,行业领袖对家具行业过去发展的总结以及未来发展的预测等,形式为月刊。作为全美最具影响力的50大杂志之一,《今日家具》引进以及翻译出版无疑促进了中美两国文化的交流,使得中国大众能够通过杂志学习掌握西方家具文化的发展趋势。因此,笔者通过对家具行业的调查与研究,通过参考杂志类以及家具行业的书籍与翻译文章,在奈达的功能对等理论指导下,完成了杂志《今日家具》的英译汉翻译任务。根据功能对等理论的要求,笔者努力创造出既符合原文语义又体现原文文化特色的译作,而在意义和形式不能兼顾的情况下,笔者根据杂志传递信息这一功能,舍弃形式对等,通过改变原文形式达到再现原文语义和文化。本篇报告对翻译中出现的问题以及解决问题的相关方法,从词汇对等、语句对等和篇章对等三个方面做了细致的分析。包括术语翻译、标题翻译、抽象名词翻译、长难句翻译,以及词性转换、编译、省略等翻译策略的使用。最后,笔者对本篇报告做了简要总结,通过对功能对等理论的系统学习与具体应用,加深了笔者对此理论的理解。解决翻译难题所使用的具体翻译方法,从根本上提高了译者的翻译水平,基本掌握了实用文本的翻译方法。然而,笔者相关知识的缺乏一定程度上导致了译文不够精准,一些案例分析不够深入透彻。此外,本篇报告是针对于英译汉的翻译实践分析总结,心得与感悟不能完全适用于汉译英翻译过程。
[Abstract]:In today's society, with the rapid development of information technology, mass media has become the main tool for people to understand and understand the outside world. Magazine, as one of the important ways of mass media, provides readers with a variety of information, including text information, picture information and so on. Therefore, magazine translation plays an important role in the field of cultural communication. This report is based on the author's part-time translation practice at a Beijing translation company. The manuscript is an English-Chinese translation of "Furniture Today", a popular furniture magazine in the United States, mainly about the style introduction of some brand furniture, the sending words of the editor-in-chief, the summary of the past development of the furniture industry by the industry leaders and the forecast of the future development of the furniture industry, and so on. The form is monthly. As one of the 50 most influential magazines in the United States, the introduction and translation and publication of Furniture Today have undoubtedly promoted the cultural exchanges between China and the United States and enabled the Chinese public to learn and grasp the development trend of western furniture culture through magazines. Therefore, through the investigation and research of furniture industry, through reference to magazines and books and translation articles in furniture industry, under the guidance of Nida's theory of functional equivalence, the author has completed the task of translating Chinese and English into Chinese into English for the magazine Furniture Today. According to the requirement of functional equivalence theory, the author tries hard to create a translation which not only conforms to the original meaning but also reflects the cultural characteristics of the original text. However, under the circumstances that both meaning and form cannot be considered, the author abandons formal equivalence according to the function of transmitting information in magazines. The semantic and cultural reappearance of the original text can be achieved by changing the form of the original text. This paper makes a detailed analysis of the problems in translation and the methods to solve them from three aspects: lexical equivalence, sentence equivalence and textual equivalence. Including terminology translation, title translation, abstract noun translation, translation of difficult sentences, and the use of part of speech translation, compilation, ellipsis and other translation strategies. Finally, the author makes a brief summary of this report, through the systematic learning and specific application of functional equivalence theory, to deepen the author's understanding of this theory. The concrete translation methods used to solve the translation problems have fundamentally improved the translator's translation level and mastered the translation methods of practical texts. However, the lack of relevant knowledge leads to the inaccuracy of translation, and some case studies are not thorough enough. In addition, the present report is an analysis and summary of the translation practice of Chinese-to-English translation, which is not fully applicable to the translation process of Chinese-to-English translation.
