《洪水淹没区快速定位软件工具》汉译翻译项目报告

【摘要】:本文为一份英译汉翻译项目报告,翻译文本为美国地质勘探局(USGS)于 2016 年 10 月公开发布的《A Software Tool for Rapid Flood Inundation Mapping》,是由山西省测绘学会(SXSSM)(以下简称“客户”)委托的翻译任务。翻译后的中文文本作为客户的内部资料,供其工作人员使用。该翻译文本涉及背景介绍、GIS防洪工具设计理念、软件工具、高程数据、软件验证、GIS防洪工具软件的应用、技术因素等七大核心内容,对于笔者来说,这是一个全新的实践翻译领域。翻译项目为非文学翻译,属于科技翻译领域中水利水电行业,侧重于洪水淹没区快速定位的新技术。本翻译项目报告描述了译前、译中、译后等翻译过程的具体情况,主要包括项目描述、文本分析、案例分析、质量控制和客户反馈等部分。在翻译过程中,笔者首先根据文本特点及功能,并依照客户要求及行业规范,确定了翻译标准;其次,又以纽马克的文本分析为依托,选择了交际翻译策略为总翻译策略。最后,笔者针对翻译中出现的翻译难点,以案例分析的形式,给出了具体的翻译方法,如,术语反查、拆分与整合、增补与省略等。通过此次翻译实践,笔者初步掌握了洪水类科技英文文本的特点及其翻译策略。本报告总结了针对洪水定位软件具体有效的翻译策略及方法;同时,通过对翻译过程的记录,笔者从此次翻译实践中总结了自己的经验,希望能为以后翻译相似文本的翻译人员提供有价值的翻译前例及翻译经验。
[Abstract]:This paper is a report on the English-Chinese translation project, which is the < A Software Tool for Rapid Flood Inundation Mapping > published by the United States Geological Exploration Agency (USGS) in October 2016. It is a translation task commissioned by Shanxi surveying and Mapping Society (SXSSM) (customer). The translated Chinese text is used as the internal information of the customer for use by its staff. The translated text involves seven core contents, such as background introduction, GIS flood control tool design concept, software tool, elevation data, software verification, application of GIS flood control tool software, technical factors and so on. This is a new field of practical translation. The translation project is a non-literary translation, which belongs to the water conservancy and hydropower industry in the field of science and technology translation, focusing on the new technology of rapid positioning of flood areas. This translation project report describes the translation process before, during and after translation, including project description, text analysis, case analysis, quality control and customer feedback. In the process of translation, the author first determines the translation standard according to the characteristics and functions of the text, and according to the customer requirements and industry norms. Secondly, based on Newmark's text analysis, the author chooses communicative translation strategy as the total translation strategy. Finally, in view of the translation difficulties in translation, the author gives specific translation methods in the form of case analysis, such as terminology backcheck, split and integration, addition and omission, and so on. Through this translation practice, the author preliminarily grasps the characteristics and translation strategies of flood science and technology English texts. This report summarizes the specific and effective translation strategies and methods for flood location software. At the same time, through the record of the translation process, the author summarizes his own experience from this translation practice, hoping to provide valuable translation precedents and translation experience for translators who translate similar texts in the future.
