《英、美、爱文学史》（美国史第6章）翻译报告

　　本翻译实践报告是基于《英、美、爱文学史》中美国文学史的第六章而写,这一部分主要阐述美国文学史的发展过程。该书作者是汉斯·彼得·瓦格纳,书籍于2003年出版,并与2010年得到修订。翻译报告原文基于最新版。该书是一本学术著作,内容包含了英国文学史、美国文学史以及爱尔兰文学史,原书作者对这三个国家的文学发展做了系统、详实的阐述,并向读者介绍了主要作家及各自具有深远影响的作品。全书共580页,30多万字,英国文学和爱尔兰文学已由其他译者完成,笔者本次翻译部分约1.2万字,主要内容包括美国文学的通俗小说和科幻小说。本报告以著名翻译理论家尤金·奈达（Eugene A.Nida）提出的功能对等理论为主要指导。因为源文本是关于文史的信息文本,以描述客观事实为主。所以,译者应采用忠实的翻译理论,使译文更接近原文。能够指导这类文本的翻译理论有很多,例如彼得·纽马克的交际翻译理论,该理论以为目的语读者传递信息为主。由于原文多处涉及到与文化有关的翻译,并与导师对文本内容整体分析和讨论后,笔者选择了另一种更适合的理论——功能对等理论。功能对等是指翻译时不是文字表面的一一对应,而是在源语和目的语两种语言间达成功...
