高校来华外籍英语教师人格与跨文化适应策略关系研究

教育国际化背景下,中国持续引入海外师资,来华外籍英语教师人数激增。外籍英语教师的跨文化适应问题日渐受到国内外学者的关注。本文旨通过探索外籍英语教师人格与跨文化适应策略的关系,来预测不同人格外籍教师对跨文化适应策略的选择异同。Berry的双维度跨文化适应模型认为,跨文化适应策略有四项:整合、隔离、同化以及边缘化。Goldberg的大五人格理论认为,人格有五个相对独立的维度:外倾性、宜人性、责任心、神经质以及开放性。本文以双维度跨文化适应模型与大五人格理论为支撑,分层抽取122名中国郑州高校外籍英语教师为研究对象,以大五人格量表与跨文化适应策略量表为问卷调查工具,结合半结构式访谈收集数据,采用SPSS16.0统计软件对问卷数据进行分析,采用话语分析法处理访谈结果,以揭示外籍教师人格与跨文化适应策略的现状以及两者之间的关系。本研究的主要发现可概括为以下两点:⑴来华外籍英语教师的跨文化适应策略现状总体表现为:选择整合策略的教师最多,隔离策略的次之,同化策略的居第三,边缘化的教师最少。外籍英语教师的人格现状总体表现为:高外倾性、高宜人性、高责任心、低神经质以及高开放性。同时,在跨文化适应策略的选...
