《澳大利亚社会多维度研究》（第四章）英汉翻译实践报告

　　本篇翻译实践报告翻译文本选自布莱恩·格雷茨和伊恩·麦卡利斯特的作品《澳大利亚社会多维度研究》。该作品为1994年由麦克米兰出版公司澳大利亚分部出版的全英文版书籍。该书主要讲述的是澳大利亚国情概况,并以澳大利亚的人口、社会、政治三个维度来介绍澳大利亚。译者承担第四章种族的英译汉翻译任务。该翻译文本为信息类文本,用词精炼、客观,翻译需要忠实可信并且流畅易懂,译文注重翻译准确性和可读性。译者选择德国功能派费米尔目的论作为翻译的理论基础,在翻译实践中以目的论的三原则目的原则、连贯原则、忠实原则为指导。其中,目的论原则是首要原则,翻译策略是根据不同的翻译目的而定的。在翻译实践中运用的翻译技巧有增词法、省略法,被动语态译成汉语主动语态、被动语态译成汉语被动语态、被动语态译成无主句,长句的翻译中选用内嵌法、拆分法、重组法。译者认为以目的论为理论支撑选取适当的翻译技巧可以提高翻译的准确性、可读性,同时在翻译实践中总结经验和方法,提高自身翻译能力。
