来华留学生视角下的学位课程全英语教学:实践、方法与挑战

在许多母语非英语的国家中,高等教育机构往往采用全英语教学模式(EMI)。尽管EMI越来越普及,但是,由于使用外语授课而产生的挑战,许多人质疑这种教学方式的有效性。以往大多数研究主要聚焦于本族语学生和教师,回溯他们的经历并评价特定国家全英语教学模式的状况。关于中国全英语教学模式的研究也相对具体、尚有局限。目前,还没有通过跨机构的调查,从外国留学生的视角来评价学位课程全英语教学模式的研究。本研究在中国杭州7所高等教育机构中展开调查,调查对象为随机选择的98名全英语学位课程的国际学生。调查时间为2019年3月至6月,主要采用问卷调查和半结构式访谈调查国际生的态度。在调查研究中,研究者主要聚焦教学方法的挑战、原因以及相应的解决方式。总体上来说,大部分调查对象表示:希望看到老师在教学过程中使用更多且更好的英语,提供更多的解释和案例,定期与学生进行有效的交流以及增加课堂的互动性。
