【摘要】：在这个国际紧密融合的时代,外宣文本己日渐成为外人认识中国的一个重要途径。虽然已经有一些研究在探讨外宣资料的英译问题,然而功能对等理论没有得到应有的关注,以其为视角进行的研究少之又少。本文将探索功能对等理论在宣传资料英译中的指导意义,并制定出更有效的翻译策略来指导我国外宣资料的英译,希望能以此促进国际间的交流。本文首先对外宣文本的定义、特点、和前人的相关研究展开了详尽的阐述。然后对本文的理论框架,即功能对等理论进行了详尽的阐述,并对该理论对于外宣资料英译的适用性进行了分析与论证。最后以功能对等理论为指导,作者对其所翻译的政治文本《关于“一国两制”理论形成的几个问题》从词汇、句法、篇章的三个层面展开了全面的分析。在分析的基础上,作者就词汇、句法、篇章这三个层面提出了切实可行的翻译策略,如直译、省略、增词、减词等,以指导以后的翻译实践。
