基于框架语义学理论的高中英语词汇教学的实验研究

【摘要】：词汇在语言学习中处于重要位置,是语言系统不可忽视的一部分。然而在一些高中英语课堂上,英语词汇教学现状并不令人满意。很多学生抱怨记忆单词消耗大量时间。且他们孤立地背单词,很快遗忘。结果学生词汇量小,词汇学习兴趣低。为了提高学生词汇量和词汇学习兴趣,作者以框架语义学为理论依据,设计出框架语义学指导下的高中英语词汇教学的实验研究。本文通过问卷调查、词汇测试和访谈的方法,探讨框架语义学理论指导下的高中英语词汇教学方法能否扩大学生词汇量和提高词汇学习的兴趣态度。本文提出两个研究问题:(1)框架语义学理论指导下的高中英语词汇教学方法能否扩大学生的词汇量?(2)框架语义学理论指导下的高中英语词汇教学方法能否影响学生英语词汇学习的兴趣和态度?100名普通高中高一学生参加了本研究,他们随机被分到实验班(4班)和控制班(3班),每班50人。作者采用Schmitt等人设计的词汇水平测试卷来进行前测。在词汇学习课上,作者在实验班采用框架语义学理论指导下的英语词汇教学方法来学习词汇。而在控制班,作者采用传统的教学方法进行词汇学习。此外,为了验证框架语义学理论指导下的英语词汇教学方法是否能提高学生词汇学习的兴趣和态度,两个班的学生在实验前、后参加了问卷调查。同时,实验后还进行了访谈。经过15周的学习后,测试所得数据使用独立样本T检验进行分析,问卷调查所得数据用百分比进行分析。访谈也用于分析结果。结果表明:框架语义学理论指导下的高中英语词汇教学方法能扩大学生词汇量,也能影响学生英语词汇学习的兴趣和态度。学生的英语词汇学习兴趣得到提高,词汇学习态度和方法也有了积极的转变。通过研究结果,我们得到以下启示:首先,要培养学生运用框架语义学来进行词汇学习的意识;其次,教师在词汇学习上要给予学生指导;最后,百科知识有助于对语言的理解。根据框架语义学理论,语言根植于人的生活体验之中,体验丰富人的认知框架,学者则提出意义百科观的理论,要不断丰富百科知识。
