《红楼梦》三种英文全译本底本差异性管窥

【摘要】：《红楼梦》迄今共有三种英文全译本,公开出版者有霍克思、闵福德合译的The Story of the Stone,杨宪益、戴乃迭合译的A Dream of Red Mansions;另有邦斯尔神父(又译彭寿)独译的Red Chamber Dream,虽未成书出版,却已由香港大学图书馆制作成电子版,供读者免费在线阅读。三种全译本的底本选择各有差异,此前也不乏研究者做出考证;本文拟从具体的中英文文本对照分析出发,进一步考察底本差异及译者的相关处理,分析译者在底本选择与译文处理中体现出的文化理念,尤其是杨译本中彰显的对于中国传统文化内涵的坚守及其折射出的文化自信。
[Abstract]:So far, there are three full English translations of the Dream of the Red Mansions, published by Hawkes, The Story of the Stone, Yang Xianyi. Dream of Red Mansions; There is also Father Bonsall's only translation of Red Chamber Dream.Although it has not been published in a book, it has been produced in electronic form by the Library of the University of Hong Kong. For readers to read free online. The three versions of the original selection is different, before also many researchers to make textual research; Based on the contrastive analysis of the Chinese and English texts, this paper further examines the differences between the original text and the translator's relevant treatment, and analyzes the cultural concepts embodied by the translator in the selection of the original text and the processing of the target text. In particular, Yang's translation shows his adherence to the connotation of Chinese traditional culture and his cultural confidence.
