《求知欲:不确定时代背景下对学生的研究》翻译实践报告

【摘要】:《求知欲:不确定时代背景下对学生的研究》一书由当代英国高等教育的领军人物罗纳德·巴内特教授编写,重点是研究学生的求知欲从何而来并将这种求知欲如何保持下去等一系列问题。罗纳德·巴内特教授对于高等教育的研究有着十分浓厚的兴趣,并对学生、教师、课程体系、教育理念和方法等进行了深入的探究,对教育事业做出了非常有价值的贡献。当今世界时局动荡、竞争激烈,教育作为衡量一个国家综合实力的重要标准,越来越被人们所重视。世界各国学者和专家对于教育的研究也付出了很大的努力,涉及的范围也很广,研究成果丰富而多样。高等教育中,人们不难发现这样一种现象,即绝大部分学生都能克服困难坚持完成学业,但这种现象背后的原因和本质鲜少有人研究。学生坚持完成学业是因为内心具备一种自发的动力,实际上也叫作“求知欲”,正是这样的求知欲推动着学生在学习的道路上不断前进,并能够勇敢面对挑战、积极克服困难,最终取得一定的成就。巴内特教授采用本体论、经验论、先验论等哲学视角和相应的哲学方法,用简单易懂的事例深入地阐释了学生产生求知欲的原因和条件。此书属于非文学信息型文本。文中长难句较多,哲学性强,语言严谨,逻辑清晰,所举事例特点鲜明,具有很强的代表性。翻译此书使得笔者积累了很多的翻译经验,增长专业知识的同时对于当前的教育理念也有较为深入的了解。本篇翻译实践报告一共分为五个部分,主要从词汇和句法两个方面对实践过程中遇到的问题进行分析,采用的是奈达的“功能对等”理论。第一部分是翻译缘起,主要介绍了此次翻译实践活动的背景以及翻译此书的目的和意义。第二部分是任务描述,介绍了作者罗纳德·巴内特教授的研究领域,并对这本书的类型和特点做了简单的说明。同时,也陈述了笔者在翻译过程中用到的各种翻译工具以及步骤安排。第三部分是翻译理论框架,主要对于奈达的“功能对等”理论的内容和原则以及运用的翻译技巧进行了详细的介绍。第四部分是“功能对等”理论在此次翻译实践活动中的应用,主要从词汇和句法两个层面进行举例和分析。第五部分是结语,主要陈述了笔者在翻译实践中的心得体会,包括翻译过程中遇到的困难、自身的不足之处等。
[Abstract]:"thirst for knowledge: a study of students in the context of an uncertain Age." written by Professor Ronald Barnett, a leading figure in contemporary British higher education. The focus is on where students' desire for knowledge comes from and how to sustain it. Professor Ronald Barnett has a strong interest in the study of higher education, and he has a strong interest in students, teachers, the curriculum system. Educational ideas and methods have been deeply explored, and have made a very valuable contribution to the cause of education. Nowadays, the world is in turmoil and competition is fierce. Education is an important standard for measuring a country's comprehensive strength. People pay more and more attention to it. Scholars and experts from all over the world have also made great efforts in the research of education. The scope of research is also very wide, and the research results are rich and diverse. In higher education, it is not difficult to find such a phenomenon. That is, most students can overcome difficulties and persist in completing their studies, but the reasons and essence behind this phenomenon are rarely studied. Students insist on completing their studies because they have a kind of spontaneous motivation in their hearts. In fact, it is also known as the "thirst for knowledge", which drives students on the path of learning, and is able to face challenges, overcome difficulties, and eventually achieve something. Professor Barnett adopts ontology. From the perspective of philosophy such as empiricism, transcendentalism, and corresponding philosophical methods, this paper explains in depth the causes and conditions of students' desire for knowledge with simple and understandable examples. This book belongs to a non-literary informative text, in which there are many long and difficult sentences and a strong philosophical character. The language is rigorous, the logic is clear, the examples given are distinctive and have strong representativeness. The translation of this book has made the author accumulate a lot of translation experience. This translation practice report is divided into five parts, mainly from the lexical and syntactic aspects to analyze the problems encountered in the process of practice. Nida's "functional equivalence" theory is adopted. The first part is the origin of translation, which mainly introduces the background of the translation practice and the purpose and significance of translating the book. The second part is the task description. Introduced the author, Professor Ronard Barnett, and gave a brief description of the types and characteristics of the book. It also describes the various translation tools and procedures used by the author in the process of translation. The third part is the theoretical framework of translation. The contents and principles of Nida's "functional equivalence" theory and the translation techniques used are introduced in detail. Part 4th is about the application of "functional equivalence" theory in this translation practice. The 5th part is the conclusion, which mainly describes the author's experience in translation practice, including the difficulties encountered in the process of translation, his own shortcomings and so on.
