英汉贸易索赔函人际意义的对比研究

【摘要】:经济全球化的飞速增长带来了贸易活动的蓬勃发展。商务信函作为贸易活动的重要交流媒介,在国内和国际贸易中发挥着重要作用。在交易中,买卖双方需要严格遵循合同内容并履行相应义务。当其中一方因违约造成经济损失时,受损方为维护自身利益有权向其提出索赔,而索赔函则被作为解决纠纷的一种有效的途径。书写索赔函的主要目的是劝说责任方能够积极正面的解决问题,因此,索赔方需要使用合适贴切的的词语及句子表达自己的态度和立场,以便顺利的解决冲突。目前,国内外学者对索赔函的研究大多集中在语用策略,语体学及修辞学等方面,而在系统功能语法视域下进行的英汉对比研究并不多见。本文作者试图以韩礼德的系统功能语法为理论依据,旨在分析中英汉索赔函中人际意义的实现方式及他们的异同,进而为跨文化商务交流的研究提供有效途径。本文拟从如下三个方面对英汉贸易索赔函进行对比研究:(1)英文索赔函中的人际意义是如何通过人称,语气和情态系统来实现的?(2)中文索赔函中的人际意义是如何通过人称,语气和情态系统来实现的?(3)英汉索赔函中的人际意义的实现有何异同之处?作者从已出版的具有权威性的商务信函书籍和教材中选取60篇英汉索赔函作为研究语料,通过定量和定性结合的研究方式验证了系统功能语法可以当做研究英汉索赔函人际意义实现的手段。在文章的引言部分,作者简明扼要的陈述了此次研究的背景,写作意义以及全文结构。第二章回顾并评价了国内外对人际意义和索赔函两部分相关的研究文献。第三章作者简述了本研究的理论基础,即韩礼德的系统功能语法。第四章详细的介绍了本文的研究问题,研究方法和研究过程。在接下来文章的主体部分中,作者对英汉索赔函中的人际意义实现方式进行详细论述,并总结异同之处。最后一章中,作者概括了本文的研究成果和启示,并指出本文的局限性以及今后研究的方向。研究发现,在人称方面,英文索赔函多使用第一人称,而中文索赔函多使用第二人称;在语气方面,英汉索赔函均大量陈述语气来传递信息,中文索赔函中的祈使语气要多于英文信函,而条件语气则使用较少;在情态方面,英汉索赔函均大量使用语气状语客观地陈述事实,在英文索赔函中,中值情态动词使用最多,而中文索赔函则多采用中低值情态动词。本研究具有一定的理论和实践意义。本文为系统功能语法和商务索赔函的研究拓宽了视角,同时也为跨文化商务交流提供了一定的参考。
[Abstract]:The rapid growth of economic globalization has brought about the vigorous development of trade activities. As an important medium of communication for trade activities, business letters play an important role in domestic and international trade. The buyer and seller shall strictly abide by the contents of the contract and perform the corresponding obligations. When one of them causes economic losses as a result of breach of contract, the aggrieved party shall have the right to file a claim against him in order to safeguard his own interests, The main purpose of writing the claim letter is to persuade the responsible party to solve the problem positively and positively, therefore, Claimants need to express their attitudes and positions with appropriate words and sentences in order to resolve conflicts smoothly. At present, most of the researches on claim letters are focused on pragmatic strategies, stylistics, rhetoric, and so on. However, there are few contrastive studies in English and Chinese from the perspective of systemic functional Grammar. Based on Halliday's systemic functional Grammar, the author attempts to analyze the realization of interpersonal meaning and their similarities and differences in English and Chinese claim letters. This paper makes a contrastive study on the English and Chinese trade claim letters from the following three aspects: how the interpersonal meaning in the English claim letter is realized through the person, mood and modality system? How does the interpersonal meaning in the Chinese claim letter be realized by the person, tone and modality system? What are the similarities and differences between the realization of interpersonal meaning in English and Chinese claim letters? From the published authoritative business correspondence books and textbooks, the author selects 60 claims from English and Chinese as the research corpus. Through the combination of quantitative and qualitative studies, the author verifies that the systemic functional grammar can be used as a means to study the interpersonal meaning realization of English and Chinese claim letters. In the introduction, the author briefly describes the background of this study. Chapter two reviews and evaluates the research literature on interpersonal meaning and claim letter at home and abroad. The third chapter briefly describes the theoretical basis of this study. That is, Halliday's systemic functional grammar. Chapter 4th introduces the research problems, research methods and research process in detail. In the main part of the following article, the author discusses the realization of interpersonal meaning in English and Chinese claim letters in detail. In the last chapter, the author summarizes the research results and enlightenment, and points out the limitations of this paper and the direction of future research. In terms of tone, both English and Chinese claim letters contain a large number of statements to convey information. The Chinese claim letters contain more imperative tones than English letters, while the conditional tone is less used. Both English and Chinese claim letters use modal adverbials to objectively state the facts. In English claim letters, the median modal verbs are used most frequently. This study has some theoretical and practical significance. This paper broadens the perspective for the study of systemic functional grammar and business claim letter. At the same time, it also provides a certain reference for cross-cultural business communication.
