【摘要】：本文主要从切斯特曼翻译伦理模式去研究翻译家杨宪益在委婉语英译方面的相关问题。委婉语是交际中的“润滑剂”,在文学创作与实际生活中随处可见。作为一种文化心理现象,委婉语折射出一个民族内部的文化与思维方式。杨宪益的英译作品很大一部分集中在中国古典文学作品上,这些作品中含有大量委婉语。委婉语英译既考验译者的译文是否保留原文委婉色彩,又要求译文能让西方读者读懂。因此,研究翻译家杨宪益如何处理委婉语英译,探讨杨宪益是如何最大限度地译出委婉语的精髓,有重要的理论意义和实践价值。作为译界泰斗,杨宪益被誉为“翻译了整个中国的人”,他与夫人戴乃迭合译了百余部作品,其数量之多,质量之高,为译介中国文学做出了极大贡献。然而对杨宪益的研究多集中于其翻译作品,鲜有人去研究杨宪益作为译者的译作风格及特点。从杨宪益对于委婉语英译的处理情况,以小见大,可窥见其作为译者的翻译思想与方法。目前委婉语英译的研究角度主要是目的论、对等理论、语用学等。本文拟从切斯特曼翻译伦理模式的角度来研究委婉语的英译。基于价值的切斯特曼翻译伦理模式从再现伦理、服务伦理、交际伦理、规范伦理与承诺伦理来规范翻译行为,将翻译活动纳入各个伦理观来进行引导,使翻译活动能较好地找好自身定位,这种定位给翻译原则及策略提供了综合性的指导,同时也反映了翻译行为的价值诉求。本文采用综合分析、归纳演绎等定性研究方法,引用大量杨宪益委婉语英译的实例,将理论阐述和翻译实例相结合,探讨委婉语英译翻译策略及杨宪益个人翻译思想与风格,并总结了翻译策略与五种翻译伦理模式的内在联系。本文首先就研究背景进行简要叙述,点出研究的意义,目标和方法。随后,文献综述部分主要梳理了近年来国内外委婉语研究现状、翻译伦理的研究成果、杨宪益个人译作及翻译思想的研究概况,指出现存研究的问题所在。随后以杨宪益委婉语英译为出发点讨论了委婉语的翻译策略、杨宪益个人翻译思想与风格等。最后,通过对委婉语翻译策略的归纳,探讨切斯特曼伦理模式如何规范翻译行为。在此基础上,分析翻译策略所体现的伦理观以及五大伦理模式内部的制约守恒关系。研究发现:1、切斯特曼的翻译伦理模式对翻译行为具有指导作用,在不同模式下,译者翻译策略的选择各有倾向;2、杨宪益在委婉语英译中,采用了直译、直译加脚注、意译、增译、省略和移植等手法,可以看出杨译侧重于异化翻译,兼顾归化翻译;3、杨宪益倾向异化翻译策略,是为其传播中国传统文化的译者使命服务。杨宪益坚持委婉语的可译性,同时强调委婉语英译的“信”与“达”;4、切斯特曼四种翻译模式伦理价值之间存在冲突现象,当出现冲突时,需通过承诺伦理来协调。杨宪益灵活采取翻译策略,时刻遵守职业规范,适时倾向不同伦理模式。本研究的意义和价值:从切斯特曼翻译伦理模式角度发现杨宪益委婉语英译的具体翻译策略,以及杨宪益的委婉语英译思想与风格,并对这些问题进行探讨,为以后学者研究委婉语英译及研究作为译者的杨宪益本人提供了一定的建议。本文还试图去探讨切斯特曼翻译伦理的局限性及杨宪益的解决之法,为翻译伦理的理论研究提供参考。本研究的创新点:从切斯特曼翻译伦理模式研究杨宪益委婉语英译相关问题,在一定程度上拓宽了对翻译大师杨宪益及其委婉语翻译风格的研究思路;创造性地运用切斯特曼伦理模式来研究委婉语翻译,为委婉语翻译研究提供一个新视野,有利于指导翻译实践,同时启发学者对切斯特曼翻译伦理模式的再思考。
[Abstract]:This article mainly from the related problems of Chesterman's models of translation ethics to study translator Yang Xianyi in the translation of euphemism. Euphemism is the communication of the "lubricant", can be seen everywhere in the literary creation and real life. As a kind of cultural phenomenon, euphemism reflects the culture and way of thinking of a nation's internal translation. A large part of Yang Xianyi's works focus on China classical literary works, these works contain a lot of euphemism. Euphemism translation not only test the translator's translation is to retain the original flavor of euphemism, and translation can make western readers read. Therefore, how to study the translator Yang Xianyi translation of euphemism on treatment, Yang Xianyi is how to maximize the essence of translating euphemism, has important theoretical significance and practical value. As the translation circles, Yang Xianyi is known as "the people Chinese translation", He and his wife Dai Naidie translated more than 100 works, the number of high quality, have made great contributions to the study of literary translation. However, Chinese Yang Xianyi focused on his translation works, few people to study Yang Xianyi as the translation style and characteristics of the translator. The child is father of the man from Yang Xianyi to deal with the situation, for the translation of euphemism language, see its translation as the translator. The ideas and methods of the present research perspective of English translation of euphemism is mainly skopos theory, equivalence theory, pragmatics and so on. This paper intends to study the translation of euphemism from the perspective of Chesterman's models of translation ethics. Chesterman's models of translation ethics based on value from ethics, service ethics, communication ethics, normative ethics and ethics of commitment to standardize the translation action, translation activities should be various ethics to guide the translation activities can be better to find a good position, this To the translation principles and strategies to provide comprehensive guidance, but also reflects the value of translation behavior. This paper uses the comprehensive analysis, induction and deduction method of qualitative research, cited numerous examples of Yang Xianyi euphemism translation, expounds the theory and translation examples combined with the study of euphemism translation strategy and Yang Xianyi personal translation thoughts and style, and summarizes the relationship of translation strategies and the five models of translation ethics. This paper first briefly describes the research background, points out the research significance, objectives and methods. Then, the literature review part mainly combs the euphemism in recent years at home and abroad research status, research achievements of translation ethics. Study of Yang Xianyi's translation and translation of personal ideas, points out the existing problem. Then discusses the translation strategies of euphemism euphemism in English translation of Yang Xianyi as the starting point, Yang Xian Yi's translation thoughts and personal style. Finally, based on the euphemism translation strategy summed up on how to regulate the behavior of Chesterman's ethical mode of translation. Based on the analysis of ethics embodied in translation strategy view and restricting conservation between the five internal ethical model. The research found that: 1 models of translation ethics of Chesterman the guiding role of translation behavior in different modes, the translator's choice of translation strategies have different tendency; 2, Yang Xianyi in the translation of euphemism, adopts literal translation, literal translation with footnotes, free translation, amplification, omission and transplantation techniques, can be seen on the Yangs foreignization and domestication into account; 3. Yang Xianyi prefers foreignization is the spread of traditional culture as its Chinese translator. Yang Xianyi insisted the mission of serving the euphemism translation, while emphasizing the translation of euphemism of "faithfulness" and "expressiveness"; 4, Chesterman four There is a conflict between the phenomenon of translation models, ethical values, when there is conflict, need to be coordinated by the ethics of commitment. Yang Xianyi adopt flexible translation strategies, always abide by the occupation standard, timely tendency of different ethical model. The significance and value of this research: the specific translation strategy in the translation of Yang Xianyi euphemism from the ethical perspective of Chesterman's translation mode, and Yang Xianyi's translation of euphemism in thought and style, and to explore these issues, for the future research of euphemism translation and study of Yang Xianyi as a translator I provided some suggestions. The solution method this paper also attempts to probe into the limitations of Chesterman's translation ethics and Yang Xianyi, provide reference for theoretical research on translation ethics the innovations of this study: from the research ethics model Yang Xianyi Chesterman's translation of euphemism translation, widen to a certain extent Research on translation and translation of euphemism master Yang Xianyi style; to study the translation of euphemism by Chesterman's ethics mode creatively, to provide a new perspective for the study of euphemism translation, to guide the practice of translation, and inspire thinking of scholars Chesterman's models of translation ethics again.
