【摘要】:本文是一篇翻译实践报告,所选的翻译材料是来自哈佛大学政治学院罗伯特·普特南(Robert D.Putnam)教授的作品——Our Kids:The American Dream in Crisis《我们的孩子:美国梦的危机》,本次翻译实践节选该书第二章的部分内容作为此次翻译实践报告的实践文本。Our Kids:The American Dream in Crisis《我们的孩子:美国梦的危机》一书将视角从“社会资本”转向“社会不平等”问题,通过对比两代普通美国人的人生经历,力图说明阶级和阶层不平等现象在当今美国社会已达到触目惊心的程度。通过翻译这本书,可以让读者对美国社会的不平等有一个更深刻的认识。译者以目的论三原则:目的性原则、连贯性原则、忠实性原则为指导,以本次翻译实践文本为案例,探讨信息型文本翻译过程中遇到的问题及解决策略。在翻译过程中,对于词汇语义方面的问题,译者主要以忠实性原则为指导,尤其是在翻译语义较为固定的专有名词和缩略语时;对于长难句翻译,译者兼顾目的性原则、连贯性原则、忠实性原则,灵活采用了语序调整、增译兼(或)加注以及拆分重组等多种翻译方法,以确保译文忠实通顺;在语篇层面上,译者主要遵循了连贯性原则,通过照应、省略、替代、连接词和词汇复现和同现等手段,实现了语篇的衔接与连贯。报告最后,译者对本次翻译实践做了简要的思考和总结。本次翻译实践,不仅使译者加深了对功能主义目的论的理解,也有助于译者今后进一步提高翻译水平。
[Abstract]:This paper is a translation practice report. The translation material selected is from Professor Robert D. Putnam of the Harvard School of Politics, our Kids:The American Dream in Crisis, our Children: the crisis of the American Dream, excerpts from this translation practice in the second chapter of the book. "our Kids:The American Dream in Crisis: the crisis of the American Dream," as the practical text of this translation of the practice report, shifts the perspective from "social capital" to "social inequality." By comparing the life experiences of two generations of ordinary Americans, this paper tries to show that class and stratum inequality has reached an alarming degree in American society today. By translating the book, readers can have a deeper understanding of the inequality of American society. Guided by the three principles of Skopos, coherence and faithfulness, the translator takes the practical text as an example to explore the problems encountered in the process of information-based text translation and its solutions. In the process of translation, the translator is guided by the principle of faithfulness, especially in the translation of proper nouns and abbreviations with fixed semantics, while in the translation of long and difficult sentences, the translator is guided by the principle of purposefulness. Coherence principle, faithfulness principle, flexible use of word order adjustment, additional translation and / or annotation, split and recombination, etc. to ensure that the translation is faithful and smooth, in the text level, the translator mainly follows the coherence principle. Cohesion and coherence are realized by means of anaphora, ellipsis, substitution, conjunction and lexical repetition and cooccurrence. At the end of the report, the translator makes a brief reflection and summary on the translation practice. This translation practice has not only deepened the translator's understanding of functionalist Skopos, but also helped the translator to improve his translation level in the future.
