纽马克文本理论视角下油气田开发文本英译研究

【摘要】:伴随着现代科学技术的发展而兴起的科技英语文体,把基础英语和专业知识紧密结合起来,用专业性的语言来描述客观存在的事物和现象。而油气田开发专业文本作为石油科技文本中的一个分支,有其特殊的语言特征。在全球化和能源危机的背景下,石油领域的交流与合作起着越来越重要的作用。由于石油行业在中国无可替代的支柱作用,提高石油相关文本的翻译标准更是无可厚非。近年来关于石油翻译的研究越来越多,也取得了一些成就,但依然存在一些不足,如缺乏系统理论的全面指导;不同类型文本的研究匮乏或集中注意力集中在某一领域;研究者对翻译理论的掌握不够彻底而造成理论脱离实践或者两者结合不足等等,所以需要更进一步具体的深入研究。专业部分以专用术语为在科技语篇中可能仅占百分之五到百分之十的篇幅,其余的依旧是非专业部分的普通语言,所以对于译者来说还是有很大的自由选择度。本文是以油气田开发文本《非均质砂岩油藏井网优化控制理论与应用》及其英译本Control Theory and Application of Heterogeneous Reservoir Well Pattern Optimization为研究文本,摘取部分典型翻译案例,运用纽马克的文本理论及采用文本分析和归纳总结的研究方法,探讨油气田开发专业文本英译翻译方法及技巧,深化对石油行业相关文本翻译理论和方法的认识。本文主要研究油井开发英语文本的翻译特点,在纽马克文本理论指导下研究其翻译方法和技巧,为石油英语翻译提供一定的建设性意见。本论文分为五章。第一章为绪论,简明介绍了本研究的研究背景及意义、研究问题、研究方法和本论文的结构。第二章为文献综述,概述了油气田开发领域现状、相关文本的特点,所面临的挑战和发展趋势以及目前的研究现状,在已有研究者对此类文本研究的基础上,概述了其翻译相关研究方法技巧等。第三章为理论框架,介绍了纽马克文本理论的起源和发展,主要代表人物及见解以及纽马克文本理论三种主要文本之间的联系及区别。第四章为油气田开发英语文本英译方法技巧研究。本部分为本论文的核心章节,归纳总结了汉译英所采取的翻译方法和相关技巧,结合相关实例具体分析了纽马克文本理论指导下的翻译方法和技巧,并指出了部分不足。第五章为结论,主要归纳了本研究的主要发现,研究局限性以及对未来研究的建议。本研究以纽马克文本理论为指导,对油气田开发专业文本汉译英方法与技巧进行研究,研究发现:首先,油气田开发专业文本《非均质砂岩油藏井网优化控制理论与应用》作为信息型文本,信息功能影响着相应的翻译方法和技巧选择。作者分别从词汇,句子和上下文层面归纳总结了翻译油气田开发文本的难点:专业术语多及一些延伸专用词汇运用频繁,文本中长句和复杂修饰语的使用加大句法理解难度及通篇专业领域操作及应用描述;其次,本研究根据油气田开发文本的不同特点,通过分析中文文本《非均质砂岩油藏井网优化控制理论与应用》及英文译本Control Theory and Application of Heterogeneous Reservoir Well Pattern Optimization,归纳总结了油气田开发文本翻译方法和技巧:采用直译法、意译法、综合译法等翻译方法及顺译法和逆译法等翻译技巧;最后,本文通过对比所选中英文本,也发现了所选译文本从词汇层面,句子层面等存在一些翻译问题,并给出相应的解决方法:前后用语不一致;第二人称的使用及上下文用语不当等问题,希望为以后的油气田类相关文本的翻译研究提供参考和建议。
[Abstract]:With the development of modern science and technology, the style of scientific and Technological English, which combines basic English and professional knowledge, describes objectively existing things and phenomena in professional language. As a branch of Petroleum Science and technology text, the oil and gas field development text has its special linguistic features. In the context of the crisis, exchanges and cooperation in the oil field are playing a more and more important role. Because of the irreplaceable role of the oil industry in China, it is more and more impossible to improve the translation standards of petroleum related texts. In recent years, more and more researches on petroleum translation have been made, and some achievements have been taken, but there are still some shortcomings, such as that of oil translation. Lack of comprehensive guidance of systematic theory; lack of research in different types of text or concentration of attention in a certain field; researchers' lack of thorough grasp of translation theory which causes theoretical separation from practice or the lack of combination of both, and so on. The text may be only five percent to ten percent, and the rest is still a non professional common language, so there is still a lot of free choice for translators. This paper is based on oil and gas development text < the theory and application of well network optimization control for heterogeneous sandstone reservoirs > and the English version Control Theory and Application of Heterogeneous Reservoir Well Pattern Optimization, for the study of text, extracts some typical translation cases, and uses Newmark's text theory and text analysis and summary research methods to discuss the translation methods and techniques of English translation of oil and gas field development, and deepen the translation theory and methods related to the petroleum industry. This paper mainly studies the translation characteristics of English text in oil well development, studies its translation methods and techniques under the guidance of Newmark's text theory, and provides some constructive suggestions for the translation of Petroleum English. This thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, briefly introducing the background and significance of the research, research problems, research methods, and the research methods. The structure of this paper. The second chapter is the literature review, which outlines the current situation of oil and gas field development, the characteristics of the related text, the challenges and trends and the current status of the research. On the basis of the research of this kind of text, the research methods and techniques of translation related research are summarized. The third chapter is the theoretical framework and the introduction of the New Zealand. The origin and development of Mark's text theory, the main representative figures and views and the connection and difference between the three main texts of Newmark's text theory. The fourth chapter is the study of English translation methods and techniques in the development of English text in oil and gas fields. This part is the core chapter of this paper, and summarizes the translation methods and related techniques adopted in the Chinese English translation. According to the relevant examples, the translation methods and techniques under the guidance of Newmark's text theory are analyzed and some shortcomings are pointed out. The fifth chapter is the conclusion, which mainly summarizes the main findings of this study, the limitations of the research and the suggestions for future research. The English methods and techniques are studied. First, the professional text of oil and gas field development, the theory and application of well network optimization control for heterogeneous sandstone reservoirs, is used as information text, and the information function affects the corresponding translation methods and techniques. The author sums up the translation of oil and gas field from the vocabulary, sentence and context level. The difficulty of this is: many professional terms and a number of extended special vocabulary use, the use of long sentences and complex modifiers in the text to increase the difficulty of syntactic understanding and the operation and application description in the general field. Secondly, according to the different characteristics of the oil and gas field development text, the study is based on the analysis of the optimization control of the inhomogeneous sandstone reservoir through the analysis of the different characteristics of the oil and gas field development text. The theory and application of the system and the English translation of Control Theory and Application of Heterogeneous Reservoir Well Pattern Optimization, summed up the translation methods and techniques of the text of oil and gas field development: using the method of literal translation, free translation, comprehensive translation and other translation methods as well as CIS and reverse translation techniques; finally, this article through comparison The English text is selected, and some translation problems are found from the lexical level and sentence level, and the corresponding solutions are given: the inconsistency of the former language, the use of the second person and the improper use of the context, and so on, and hope to provide some reference and suggestions for the future research on the translation of oil and gas related texts.
