关联理论视角下的《白族本主崇拜》2-3章汉英翻译实践报告

【摘要】：随着旅游业的大力发展,很多关于大理自然风景、民族风俗介绍的汉语文本被译成英文,但是关于系统介绍大理白族宗教文化的书籍还没有英文版出版发行。因此,笔者选择宗教文本作为翻译材料,旨在进行有益的尝试,以期为增强中西方文化交流略尽绵薄之力。《白族本主崇拜》一书由白族学者董建中撰写,深入浅出地介绍了本主崇拜的起源,本主神的种类和现代社会本主的祭祀方式。本书有利于西方读者深入了解白族宗教文化,因此具有翻译的价值。翻译文本选自该书的第二、第三章,主要介绍了本主的起源以及一些关于自然物如何被人们奉为本主的民间故事,内容丰富多彩,语言通俗易懂。关联理论由斯铂佰和威尔逊于1986年提出,从认知语言学的角度解释言语交际行为,并提出最佳关联。后由Gutt将该理论应用于翻译领域的研究。Gutt认为翻译也是一种言语交际行为,是与大脑机制密切联系的推理过程,译者应遵循关联理论的基本原则。并根据语言的描述性用法和阐释性用法,进一步区分直接翻译和间接翻译。笔者在关联理论的指导下,通过案例分析来解释如何处理宗教文本中的文化负载词。本报告是笔者三年来翻译硕士学习的一个总结。通过此次翻译实践活动,笔者对关联理论的解释力以及宗教文本翻译有了进一步了解。
[Abstract]:With the rapid development of tourism, many Chinese texts about the natural scenery and customs of Dali have been translated into English, but the books on the religious culture of the Bai nationality in Dali have not been published in English. Therefore, the author chooses the religious text as the translation material, in order to make a useful attempt to strengthen the cultural exchange between China and the West. This paper introduces the origin of the worship of the owner, the species of the main god and the ways of offering sacrifices to the owner in modern society. This book is helpful for western readers to understand Bai religious culture in depth, so it has the value of translation. The translated text is selected from the second and third chapters of the book. It mainly introduces the origin of the owner and some folk stories about how the natural objects are regarded as the owner. The content is rich and the language is easy to understand. Relevance Theory, proposed by Spinbach and Wilson in 1986, explains speech communicative acts from the perspective of cognitive linguistics and proposes optimal relevance. Later, Gutt applied the theory to the study of translation. Gutt thought that translation is also a verbal communicative act, which is a reasoning process closely related to the brain mechanism, and the translator should follow the basic principles of relevance theory. According to the descriptive and interpretive usage of language, it further distinguishes between direct and indirect translation. Under the guidance of relevance theory, the author explains how to deal with culture-loaded words in religious texts by case study. This report is a summary of the author's three-year study of Master of Translation. Through this translation practice, the author has a better understanding of the explanatory power of relevance theory and the translation of religious texts.
