[Abstract]:In recent years, with the popularity of the Internet and the increasing frequency of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, a large number of overseas film and television works have been disseminated in China, which has changed the way people watch films and contributed to the birth of a new translation community. Instead of being content to watch dubbing or official translations, they spontaneously form fan groups to allow viewers to enjoy authentic foreign culture and to subtitle foreign film and television resources at no cost. And posted to the Internet for the majority of fans to download and watch free. They are subtitle groups from the folk. The large number of folk subtitle groups meet the needs of Chinese fans to watch overseas excellent film and television works simultaneously. Different from the traditional translation organizations, subtitle group translators are distributed in various industries, most of them have no systematic translation training and different levels, but fans often favor their innovative translation. With the further development of translation studies, more and more attention has been paid to the behavior and role of translators, which has formed the field of translation studies. Among them, there are some concerns about the translator of Grass Root. Focusing on the "grassroots" translators in the Internet era, this paper attempts to study the subtitle groups of American TV series through the combination of sociological and translator studies, especially on the cooperative mode of translators and the motivation to participate in subtitle translation without compensation. By means of interviews and participatory observation, the author investigates the translator's background and work flow of the subtitle group. By analyzing the background of subtitle group interpreters, it is found that the subtitle translation group is not limited to the conventional professional translators, and college students and social workers who have not received professional translation training have joined the team of unpaid subtitles translation. By recording the work flow of the captioning group, it is found that the general workflow of the subtitle group includes the source of the film, the timeline, the translation and proofreading, the suppression and the publication. In addition, based on a certain translation task, the cooperative translation model of the subtitle group is sorted out from the roles involved in the cooperative translation of the translation team leader, co-interpreter, proofreading and so on, and the translation team leader is presented. How to realize the interaction between interpreter and reviser in the non-professional cooperative translation platform and how to finish the subtitle translation efficiently. Finally, the thesis further excavates the motivation of subtitle group translators to participate in free translation activities, and divides the motivation of translators into two levels: internal and external. Capital, one of the core concepts of Bourdieu's social theory, reveals the essence of translator's motivation. Through the above investigation and analysis, this paper explains the emergence and translation activities of subtitle group translators of non-professional background. The present study focuses on the non-professional translators and their translation activities in subtitle translation as a preliminary attempt to study the subtitle group translators from an academic point of view in the hope of attracting the academic attention to the non-professional translators and exploring their translation mode. Organizational form, translation motivation and their similarities and differences with professional translators, a more comprehensive understanding of the translator group and the nature of translation activities.
