无稿专业发言中同传初学者信息取舍与译文质量关系的探究

【摘要】:本文旨在运用翻译理论和观察性研究,探究同传学生译员在应对无稿专业性中文发言时对信息的取舍与其翻译质量的关系,找出学生译员对信息取舍的运用特点和不足,提出改善策略,为同传初学者的学习提供一定的借鉴。本文首先以丹尼尔·吉尔的认知负荷模型理论、翻译目的论、吉尔的"最低忠实原则"为基础,论证了同传译员在面对无稿专业发言时对信息进行取舍的必要性和信息取舍的基本原则,并将信息取舍现象分为三类:弱化、简缩、删除。随后,本文选择了六位学生译员的语料作为观察对象,以观察其对信息取舍运用的特点和不足。通过定量分析和定性分析,本文得出了最后的结论,认为学生译员对信息的主动取舍普遍不熟练且趋向保守,而译文质量的差异主要取决于其对信息取舍失误的控制上,根本原因在于译员译前准备局限于语言知识的积累,忽略了语言外知识的积累。最后,本文提出学生译员应重视译前语言外知识的积累、提高短时记忆的运用能力、增强对译语的自我监控、加强锻炼EVS技巧。希望本文能为同传初学者的信息处理训练有一定的借鉴作用。
[Abstract]:Based on translation theory and observational research, this paper aims to explore the relationship between the choice of information and the translation quality of student interpreters in response to non-manuscript and professional Chinese speeches, and to find out the characteristics and shortcomings of students' use of information. The improvement strategies are put forward to provide some reference for beginners in simultaneous interpretation. This thesis is based on Daniel Gill's theory of cognitive load model, Skopos theory of translation and Gill's principle of minimum faithfulness. This paper demonstrates the necessity and the basic principles of the information selection when the interpreter is faced with the non-manuscript professional speech, and classifies the information selection phenomenon into three categories: weakening, conciseness and deletion. Then, this paper chooses the corpus of six student interpreters as the object of observation to observe the characteristics and shortcomings of the use of information trade-off. Through quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, this paper concludes that student interpreters are generally unskilled and conservative in their choice of information, and the difference in translation quality mainly depends on the control of information selection and error. The fundamental reason lies in the fact that the pre-translation preparation is limited to the accumulation of language knowledge and neglects the accumulation of external knowledge. Finally, this paper proposes that the student interpreters should pay attention to the accumulation of knowledge outside the language before translation, improve the ability of using short-term memory, strengthen the self-monitoring of the target language, and strengthen the training of EVS skills. It is hoped that this paper can be used for reference by beginners in simultaneous interpretation.
