基于语料库的交通运输工程硕士学位论文英文摘要错误分析
[Abstract]:To facilitate academic exchange, scientific and technical reports, dissertations and academic papers are required to be accompanied by abstracts in foreign languages, usually in English. Abstract is the condensing of an article. By reading the abstract, the reader can understand the main content of the article. However, the writing of English abstracts is difficult for Chinese students, and there are many language errors. The purpose of this study is to analyze the errors in the English abstract of the Master's thesis of Transportation Engineering. This study collected 500 English abstracts from three universities (Dalian Maritime University, Shanghai Maritime University and Wuhan University of Science and Technology). The lexical and syntactic errors of the 500 abstracts are analyzed with the help of the corpus software AntconC3.2.1 ww, and the three categories of lexical errors and syntactic errors with the highest frequency are studied. Their distribution characteristics and possible causes of these errors are analyzed. The statistical results show that, in terms of vocabulary, the three most frequent errors are article errors, verb errors and noun errors, which account for 26.97% and 19.66% of the total errors, respectively, in which article errors can be further classified into three subcategories. Verb errors are divided into eight subcategories, and noun errors are divided into seven subcategories. There are three main reasons for lexical errors: the differences between English and Chinese language systems, the over-generalization of English rules, and the lack of mastery of English grammar rules. In syntax, the three kinds of errors that occur most frequently are structural defects, continuous sentences and sentence fragments, which account for 43.63% and 13.23% of the total errors, respectively. Among them, structural defects are further divided into three subcategories, continuous sentences are divided into four subcategories, and sentence fragments are divided into three subcategories. There are three main reasons for syntactic errors: the differences between English and Chinese language systems, the lack of mastery of English grammar rules, and the influence of Chinese-style thinking.
