《庆阳史话》（节选）翻译实践报告

【摘要】：本文为一篇有关地方文化的翻译实践报告,翻译的原文选自《庆阳史话》。该书于2014年11月由社会科学文献出版社出版,是中国社会科学院组织编写的大型国家级历史知识系列丛书《中国史话》之一,为“十二五”国家重点图书出版规划项目,该书旨在弘扬传承中华地域性历史文化。笔者选取了该书的第四章“地方文化”开展翻译实践。全文共一万余字,详尽介绍了庆阳人民在长期的劳动与生活中形成的丰富多彩的民俗风情,充分体现了庆阳民俗文化在中华文明中的重要地位和深远影响。以庆阳为代表的陇东民俗文化独树一帜,是中国民俗文化的重要组成部分。在我国大力传播和输出地方文化的大背景下,陇东民俗文化的翻译活动符合时代和社会发展的需求。该翻译项目对于陇东地区文化的外宣具有重要的实践价值,同时也为广大国外游客了解庆阳这座具有艺术气质的西部名城提供了借鉴资料。本次翻译实践以功能主义目的论为指导,旨在探讨在民俗文本翻译过程中具体的翻译方法。功能主义目的论认为,翻译是有明确目的和意图,在译者的作用下,以原文文本为基础的跨文化的人类交际活动。因此,翻译时,既要考虑到翻译行为的目的,也要最大限度地使译文具有可读性和可接受性,并保持译文与原文的连贯。在目的论的指导下,笔者结合文本特点采取了直译法、拼音法、拼音加解释、增译法等翻译方法,并从词汇、语句和语篇等方面展开了不同层面的分析,以实现文化交际的目的。本报告共分为四大部分。第一部分为翻译任务描述,主要介绍了本次翻译任务的背景、原文文本主要内容和语言特点、项目意义以及所运用的理论指导。第二部分是翻译过程描述,详细介绍了笔者在开展本次实践活动前的相关准备、翻译过程中遇到的问题以及译后审校。第三部分是本报告的重点部分,具体的翻译案例分析,在目的论的指导下,探讨了不同翻译难点的翻译方法和策略。在第四部分笔者总结了此次翻译实践中仍然存在的不足,收获的宝贵经验,以及对民俗文化翻译活动获得的更深入理解。本报告聚焦于民俗文献的英译策略,通过此次翻译实践和案例分析,总结出了一些针对民俗文化尤其是带有浓厚地方特色语言的翻译方法,因而无论是对翻译项目本身,还是对功能目的论指导下的民俗文献英译研究都具有重要意义,同时也有利于庆阳地区文化生活的宣传与推广。
[Abstract]:This paper is a report on the translation practice of local culture. Published by the Social Sciences Literature Publishing House in November 2014, this book is one of a series of large-scale state-level historical knowledge series entitled "Chinese History and History" prepared by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It is a national key book publishing program for the 12th Five-Year Plan. The book aims to carry forward and inherit Chinese regional history and culture. The author chooses the fourth chapter of the book, Local Culture, to carry out translation practice. The full text, with more than 10,000 words in total, introduces in detail the colorful folk customs formed by the people of Qingyang in their long-term labor and life, and fully reflects the important position and far-reaching influence of Qingyang folk culture in the Chinese civilization. Longdong folk culture, represented by Qingyang, is unique and an important part of Chinese folk culture. Under the background of vigorously spreading and exporting local culture in our country, the translation of Longdong folk culture meets the needs of the times and social development. The translation project has important practical value for the cultural publicity of Longdong area, and also provides reference materials for foreign tourists to understand Qingyang, a famous western city with artistic temperament. Guided by functionalism Skopos, this translation practice aims to explore specific translation methods in the process of translation of folklore texts. Functionalist Skopos Theory holds that translation is a cross-cultural human communicative activity based on the text of the original text with a clear purpose and intention under the influence of the translator. Therefore, translation should not only take into account the purpose of translation, but also maximize the readability and acceptability of the target text, and maintain the coherence between the target text and the original text. Under the guidance of Skopos theory, the author adopts some translation methods, such as literal translation, pinyin plus interpretation and incremental translation, and analyzes them from different aspects, such as vocabulary, sentence and text. In order to achieve the purpose of cultural communication. The report is divided into four parts. The first part is the translation task description, which mainly introduces the background of the translation task, the main content and language characteristics of the original text, the significance of the project and the theoretical guidance used. The second part is a description of the process of translation, including the preparation, the problems encountered in the translation process and the post-translation reviser. The third part is the key part of this report, the concrete translation case analysis, under the guidance of Skopos theory, discusses the translation methods and strategies of different translation difficulties. In the fourth part, the author summarizes the shortcomings of the translation practice, the valuable experience gained, and a deeper understanding of the translation activities of folk culture. This report focuses on the translation strategies of folklore literature, and through this translation practice and case analysis, it summarizes some translation methods aimed at folk culture, especially languages with strong local characteristics. It is also of great significance to the study of translation of folklore documents under the guidance of functional Skopos theory, and is also beneficial to the propaganda and promotion of cultural life in Qingyang.
