[Abstract]:The purpose of this thesis is to compare and analyze the intonation characteristics between native English learners and native English speakers, and to study the subject clauses of English. This paper attempts to find out the intonation differences between native English learners and native English speakers when they read the English subject clauses, thus providing some evidence for the study of "foreign accent". The data collection and analysis of this study can be divided into the following steps: 1, the design of the recording sentence, the implementation of the recording (the choice of recording and analysis tools, etc.), the arrangement and analysis of the recording data. The recording is completed by Recorder and filtered by Audacity. The data processing includes segmentation and drawing audio images. All of them are realized by Praat software. This thesis aims to solve the following three problems: 1. What are the intonation characteristics of English native speakers reading English subject clauses? What are the intonation characteristics of English subjects and clauses reading aloud by native Cantonese learners? Why do English learners with Cantonese pronunciation have different intonation characteristics from native English speakers? The study found that 1: 1. In terms of length of time, English learners who use Cantonese as their mother tongue generally use a longer time. They can directly see the pause between words on the audio frequency, but at the same time, they also find that the native speakers of English use longer sentences. Such sentences are generally short, the pause between words is not obvious, from the specific syllable time, Cantonese native speakers part of the syllables pronunciation is incomplete. 2. In terms of phonetics segmentation, English learners with Cantonese as their mother tongue tend to divide the same sentence into more tonological groups, and there is a difference between the Cantonese native English learners and native English speakers in the segmentation of tone groups. In terms of stress, English learners in Cantonese seem to be aware of the difference between the severity of syllables, but they can not correctly reflect the strong or weak, resulting in the phenomenon of stress shift .4. In terms of the overall pitch graph of sentences, the pitch curves of the native speakers of Cantonese are much more chaotic than those of native English speakers, and there are differences between the two groups in terms of sentence tuning and core tone processing.
