功能对等理论下《万物进化史》（节选）的翻译实践报告

【摘要】：21世纪,全球范围内不同国家之间在科学技术领域的信息交流愈来愈频繁,科学技术的发展极大地促进了人类社会的发展,科普作品的翻译扮演了非常重要的角色。然而,中国的科普翻译领域目前并不成熟。因此,基于《万物进化史:新观点是如何产生的》一书的翻译实践,本文作者将从尤金·奈达的功能对等理论入手,讨论科普文的翻译策略,希望可以为科普翻译的发展贡献绵薄之力,促进科普信息的有效传递。本文的研究对象选用了英国学者马特·里德利的最新作品《万物进化史:新观点是如何产生的》。这本书从进化论的角度分析了经济发展,涉及领域覆盖科学、社会学、经济学、政治、哲学、网络科学和宗教等,为读者提供了一个看待经济发展的独特角度。本文以功能对等理论为基础,从词汇对等、句法对等以及篇章对等等角度分别对这本书的翻译进行了案例分析,讨论了翻译过程中遇到的难点。基于功能对等理论,作者讨论了科普翻译中的策略和技巧,致力于为中国读者完整精准地传达原文意义,以期达到不同文化间科普信息的交流传播。
[Abstract]:In the 21st century, the exchange of information between different countries in the field of science and technology has become more and more frequent. The development of science and technology has greatly promoted the development of human society, and the translation of popular science works has played a very important role. However, the field of popular science translation in China is not mature at present. Therefore, based on the translation practice of the book "History of everything Evolution: how New ideas come into being", the author will discuss the translation strategies of popular science from Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory. It is hoped that it can contribute to the development of science translation and promote the effective transmission of popular science information. The object of this study is British scholar Matt Ridley's latest work Evolution of all things: how New ideas come into being. The book analyzes economic development from the perspective of evolution, covering fields of science, sociology, economics, politics, philosophy, network science and religion, providing readers with a unique perspective on economic development. Based on the theory of functional equivalence, this paper makes a case study of the translation of the book from the perspectives of lexical equivalence, syntactic equivalence and text alignment, and discusses the difficulties encountered in the process of translation. Based on the theory of functional equivalence, the author discusses the strategies and techniques in the translation of science popularization, aiming to convey the meaning of the original text to Chinese readers in a complete and accurate manner, in order to achieve the communication and dissemination of popular science information among different cultures.
