科技会议同声传译对译员提出的挑战及应对办法

【摘要】:科技会议口译是以同声传译或交替传译的形式,以科技内容为主题展开的跨语言、跨文化交流。此类会议发言材料往往难度极大,对同传译员来说挑战巨大,因为其涉及大量专业知识、句式冗长复杂、对数字精确度要求高、逻辑性强。本文探讨的核心问题是科技会议同声传译的难点,译员在科技会口同传中遇到的问题,产生这些问题的原因及解决问题的办法。在实证部分,本文邀请了北京外国语大学高级翻译学院8名研二学生对基因工程领域的会议发言进行同传。实验结束后,笔者借助李长栓的"理解、表达、应急"口译分析框架对实验中译员出现的问题进行了归类,借助丹尼尔·吉尔的认知负荷模型对造成问题的原因进行了分析,提出了具体的解决办法。经过对实验结果及数据的统计分析,最终得出结论:科技会议同传的难点在于源语的听辨及短时记忆精力需求往往超过译员的可供精力,源语的产出精力需求及专业知识要求往往高于译员的可供精力和知识水平,针对源语翻译如需采用应急方法,则首先要求译员具备扎实的专业知识背景。希望学生译员在科技口译中能够更好地分配自己有限的精力,做好充分的译前准备和译后总结工作,以减轻口译过程中自己在听辨、短时记忆、产出、协调各阶段的精力需求,同时提高自己在科技口译中的理解、表达、应急能力。
[Abstract]:The interpretation of science and technology conference is a cross-lingual and cross-cultural communication with the form of simultaneous interpretation or consecutive interpretation and the subject of science and technology. This kind of conference speech material is often very difficult and challenging for simultaneous interpreters because it involves a lot of professional knowledge, the sentence structure is long and complex, the requirement of numerical accuracy is high, and the logic is strong. The core problems discussed in this paper are the difficulties of simultaneous interpretation in scientific and technological meetings, the problems encountered by interpreters in the simultaneous transmission of scientific and technological meetings, the causes of these problems and the solutions to them. In the empirical part, we invite eight students of Beijing Foreign Studies University Advanced Translation School to interpret the speeches of the conference in the field of genetic engineering. At the end of the experiment, the author classifies the problems of the interpreters in the experiment by using Li Changshuan's "understanding, expression, Emergency" interpretation analysis framework, and analyzes the causes of the problems with the help of Daniel Gill's cognitive load model. The concrete solution is put forward. Through the statistical analysis of the experimental results and data, it is concluded that the difficulty of simultaneous interpretation of scientific and technological conferences lies in the fact that the source language listening and short-term memory energy demand often outweigh the interpreters' available energy. The demand for output energy and professional knowledge of the source language is often higher than the available energy and knowledge level of the interpreter. If the source language translation needs emergency measures, the interpreter must first have a solid professional knowledge background. It is hoped that student interpreters can better allocate their limited energy and do adequate pre-translation preparation and post-translation summing-up in order to alleviate their own energy needs in listening, short-term memory, output and coordination in all stages of interpretation, At the same time, improve their understanding in science and technology interpretation, expression, emergency ability.
