道教汉英双语术语库建设项目报告

【摘要】：作为深深根植于中国传统文化的本土宗教,道教在西方世界的研究日益增多。然而,道教术语的翻译工作困难重重,需要解决诸多翻译问题。因此,汉英双语道教术语库的建设将会带来诸多益处,也将会为后续的词典编纂工作提供极大的便利。本文是对《道教汉英双语百科》编纂任务的前期准备工作的项目报告,描述并总结了汉英双语道教术语库建立的原则与过程。本项目中,术语处理的指导理论为术语学理论,包括交际术语学理论及术语定名原则。其中,交际术语学理论用来定义并区别出本项目中中文道教术语的范畴,而术语定名原则用来制定英文道教术语提取的基本原则。如此,中英文道教术语的处理遵循了以下程序:术语提取、术语匹配、术语校对、建立道教汉英双语术语库。为了了解源文本的特点,本报告对汉语道教术语的结构特征和语义特征进行了分析。对结构特征的分析是从汉语术语的语法功能结构视角进行的;汉语道教术语的语义特征主要划分为单义性、一词多义和多词同义。同时,为了给后续编纂任务提供借鉴,本报告对术语库提取出的英文道教术语进行了分析,归纳出所选英文材料采用的几种基本翻译方法分别为音译、音译加注、直译、直译加注、音译加直译、意译、借译。这些翻译方法的得与失在本报告中也做了简要的概括。
[Abstract]:As a native religion deeply rooted in Chinese traditional culture, Taoism is increasingly studied in the western world. However, the translation of Taoist terminology is very difficult, and many translation problems need to be solved. Therefore, the construction of Chinese-English bilingual Taoist terminology database will bring a lot of benefits, and will also provide great convenience for the subsequent dictionary compilation. This paper is a project report on the preliminary preparation of the compilation task of Taoist Chinese-English Bilingual Encyclopedia, and describes and summarizes the principles and processes of establishing the Chinese-English bilingual Taoist terminology database. In this project, terminology processing is guided by terminology theory, including communicative terminology theory and terminology naming principle. Among them, the theory of communicative terminology is used to define and distinguish the category of Chinese Taoist terms in this project, and the principle of terminology naming is used to formulate the basic principles for the extraction of English Taoist terms. Thus, the processing of Taoist terms in English and Chinese follows the following procedures: term extraction, terminology matching, terminology proofreading, and establishment of Taoist Chinese-English bilingual terminology database. In order to understand the characteristics of the source text, this report analyzes the structural and semantic features of Chinese Taoist terms. The analysis of structural features is carried out from the perspective of grammatical functional structure of Chinese terms, and the semantic features of Chinese Taoist terms are mainly divided into mononymy, polysemy and multi-word synonym. At the same time, in order to provide reference for the subsequent compilation task, this report analyzes the English Taoist terms extracted from the glossary, and concludes that the basic translation methods used in the selected English materials are transliteration, transliteration plus note, literal translation, etc. Literal translation plus note, transliteration plus literal translation, free translation, loan translation. The gains and losses of these translation methods are also briefly summarized in this report.
