基于陈述性记忆角度论信息密度与口译质量的相关性

【摘要】:本文是一篇研究信息密度与口译质量的相关性实验报告。笔者选取翻译硕士英语口译方向的研究生作为实验对象,通过控制变量实验和对比观察的实验手段,考察源语言信息密度与口译质量和译员表现之间的相关性,旨在为译员提高自身口译质量提供指导,进而促进口译教学与研究。实验结果表明:信息密度对口译产出的影响是复杂的,而不是单一的。当译员调动陈述性记忆中的情景记忆处理原文时,信息密度增加,口译质量不一定降低,某些情况下,口译质量还会提升。然而当译员调动陈述性记忆中的语义记忆处理原文时,信息密度增加,译员产出质量呈现下降趋势。由此可见,口译产出与信息密度之间并非单一线性关系,它受到诸多其他因素影响,如本实验中所涉及的译员对记忆的调动,以及译员采取的应对技巧。在口译训练和教学中,针对使用的不同的记忆种类,译员可以采取不同的应对策略,有针对性地进行记忆训练,以提高口译表现和质量。
[Abstract]:This paper is an experimental report on the correlation between information density and interpretation quality. The author chooses the graduate students in the direction of English interpretation as the experimental subjects. By means of the control variable experiment and the comparative observation, the author investigates the correlation between the information density of the source language and the quality of interpretation and the performance of the interpreter. The purpose of this paper is to provide guidance for interpreters to improve their interpretation quality, and to promote interpretation teaching and research. The experimental results show that the effect of information density on interpretation output is complex, not single. When the interpreter transfers the situational memory in declarative memory to process the original text, the information density increases and the interpretation quality does not necessarily decrease. In some cases, the interpretation quality will be improved. However, when the semantic memory in declarative memory is transferred to process the original text, the information density increases and the quality of interpreter output decreases. It can be seen that the relationship between interpretation output and information density is not a single linear relationship. It is influenced by many other factors such as the transfer of memory and the coping skills adopted by interpreters in this experiment. In order to improve the performance and quality of interpreting, interpreters can adopt different coping strategies in order to improve the performance and quality of interpreting in accordance with the different types of memory used in interpreting training and teaching.
