《康复》(1-2章)翻译实践报告

  本论文属于翻译实践报告。翻译材料选自美国2018年最新出版的作品《康复》(The Recovering)的第一章和第二章,作者是莱丝莉·杰米森。杰米森回忆记录了自己在耶鲁大学、爱荷华创意写作班学习时期通过酗酒寻找创作灵感的经历。小说从酗酒这一角度出发,既记述描写了一些天才酒鬼作家们的生平以及他们的主要作品。这些天才因各种人生境遇沉迷酒精不能自拔。酒精成就了他们的辉煌,也毁了他们的人生。又讲述了自己多年来与酒精抗争的过程,以及在此过程中对人生的思考和对自己创作的探究。从与酒结缘到第一次戒酒,然后开始陷入反复不断的酗酒戒酒怪圈,作者一直试图寻找一种有效的方法来让自己“康复”。本论文以功能对等理论作为指导理论。功能对等理论(Functional Equivalence Theory)是美国翻译大师尤金·A·奈达(Eugene A Nida)于上世纪60年代提出的翻译理论。在研究翻译的过程中,奈达先提出形式对等和功能对等两个概念。接着于1969年,他又提出功能对等理论。该理论要求译者在翻译过程中不应片面地追求文字表面的死板对应,而要在两种语言间达成功能上的对等。本次翻译实践中笔者以功能对等理论...
