生态翻译学视角下《西方之道》（节选）英译汉实践报告

　　本文是一篇英译汉翻译实践报告,源文本选自英国学者克拉克(J.J.Clarke)的《西方之道——道家思想的西化》(以下简称《西方之道》)。作为一部介绍道家思想在西方的传播情况的学术文献,该书呈现了西方学者对道家思想的认知与反思。在语言层面,源文本既有学术文献的固有特点,如句法上善用长句、被动句,以求论述客观;也有因其研究内容不同而具备的特征,如词汇上善用评价性词汇。文化层面,源文本含有大量哲学术语、道家术语、典故等或明或暗的引用。交际层面,源文本运用了隐喻及重复的表达方式,以使论说能清楚晓畅。生态翻译学认为,翻译是译者适应原文本生态环境和译者对译文进行适应性选择的交替循环过程。结合源文本特点,本报告以生态翻译学为理论依据,采取“三维转换”的翻译策略,从语言、文化、交际三个维度,对一些典型案例进行分析,总结了一些可行的翻译方法。具体而言,语言维层面,将原文中西方汉学家对道家的评价性词汇转换为汉语中的四字词;采取分译的方法处理论述长句;将被动句转换为主动句,使译文在保留原文含义的基础上更自然流畅。文化维层面,采用明晰化的方式处理隐含的道家经典典故;通过追溯哲学术语的词源含义,适应性地选择约定俗...
